Does Alat Virtual Naira Card Work On AliExpress?
If you are looking for a convenient and secure way to shop online, you might want to consider using a virtual card. A virtual card is a digital card you can create on your phone or computer and use for online payments or purchases.
Unlike a physical card, a virtual card does not have a plastic form or a chip. It only has a card number, an expiry date, and a CVV code that you can use to make transactions on websites or apps that accept cards.

Alat Virtual Naira Card: Does It Work On AliExpress?
In recent times, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has imposed new restrictions on the use of Naira cards for international online transactions, allowing only MasterCard and Visa cards in dollar-denominated. This has made it challenging for Nigerian customers to shop on international platforms like AliExpress. Therefore, Alat virtual naira card does not work on AliExpress.
There are alternative methods to pay for goods on AliExpress without using a Naira card. We will discuss two methods to make payments on AliExpress from Nigeria.
Two Methods – How To Make Payments On Aliexpress From Nigeria
1. Domiciliary Account: Opening a domiciliary account in your local bank is one option. This involves opening a dollar account with your bank, which will provide you with a card that can be used for international online payments.
2. Virtual Dollar Card: A virtual dollar card is another payment method that works on AliExpress in Nigeria. These cards can be obtained from various sources and used to make payments on international platforms like AliExpress, Google Ads, and more.
One of the banks that offers virtual cards in Nigeria is Alat, which is Nigeria’s first fully digital bank. Alat allows you to create virtual naira and dollar cards on its app or website. You can create a virtual naira card for free and fund it with naira from your Alat account. You can use this card to pay bills and purchase goods and services on all websites and apps in Nigeria that accept Mastercard or Visa naira cards.
You can also create a virtual dollar card for a fee of $3.23 and fund it with dollars converted from the naira in your Alat account at the current bank rate. You can use this card to pay for goods and services on any website or app that accepts Mastercard or Visa dollar cards. The funds in the card can be liquidated back into your Alat account and your card deleted after use.
Note: At the moment, dollar card creation is no longer available on the Wema Alat app. You can only create a naira virtual card.
So, does the Alat virtual naira card work on AliExpress? The answer is no. You cannot use Alat virtual naira card on AliExpress because AliExpress does not accept naira cards. You need to use an Alat dollar debit card instead (not a virtual dollar card).
